Sheffield Manor, also known as the Turret House, Manor Lodge or Manor Castle, was built about 1516 in what then was a large deer park to the east of Sheffield. It was a country retreat for George Talbot, the 4th Earl of Shrewsbury, and his family. Mary, Queen of Scots was held prisoner here by the 6th Earl of Shrewsbury.
The Manor is reputedly haunted by (yes, you've gusessed it) Mary, Queen of Scots. She is said to walk the interior of the Manor.
